Ephesians 5 v 8

Notes:
The implication of verse 8 of Ephesians 5 is that some of the redeemed people of Ephesus were still living in ways that were unchanged since they were saved. Paul therefore admonishes them, telling them that they are to have nothing to do with what he calls 'deeds of darkness'. but rather that they should live according to the radical change that has taken place in them through the sacrifice of Jesus. They are now 'children of light', so he says, "Wake up. O sleeper!"
Many Christians live in a state of sleep, unaware of and apparently unconcerned about what God is doing today in the world and in His church. It is time to wake out of slumber (Romans 13) because the night is nearly over, and the day is almost here! |
