Sermon Details

The story of Jesus is miraculous from start to finish, and our Christian faith is a faith that is based firmly on the supernatural.  A God who is not able to do miracles - and who does not routinely intervene in human affairs - is not worth believing in. 

The coming of Jesus was the fulfilment of a promise from God that had  been given to his people centuries beforehand.  God does not break his promises, and the birth of our Saviour is a sign to us that all of God's promises will be fulfilled.  Because our flesh is weak and with the passage of time we are prone to forget the promises God has made to us, we should constantly remind ourselves of the truth, - and Jesus' coming gives us all a sure and certain hope of Jesus' ultimate victory.
