Notes:
David, the man of whom God said was a man after His own heart, was nevertheless human and shared all our human failings and frailties. The dreadful sin into which David fell when he committed adultery with Bathsheba, followed by the murder of her husband Uriah, shows us how sin can have such small beginnings but develop into terrible ungodliness. As we have been reading in Ephesians lately, we are 'Created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.' David's failure is a warning to us all.
