Sermon Details

Once David was established as king over the whole of Israel, he set about fulfilling his covenant promise to his now deceased friend Jonathan.  He brought Jonathan's disabled son Mephibosheth out of obscurity and gave him a permanent place at the king's table - an honour and privilege Mephibosheth could never have deserved or expected.

In treating Mephibosheth in this way, David illustrates for us something of the nature of our own amazing salvation.
